Frank Montagna
Frank Montagna
Chief Montagna is a 31-year veteran of the Fire Department of New York. He also has served as an officer for the past 22 years and as a battalion chief for the past 14.  He has taught at the New York City Probationary Firefighters School and has been the Officer- in- Command of FDNY's Chauffeur Training School.  Frank was a lieutenant in Engine Company 88 and a Captain in Ladder 149.  He is currently the Battalion Commander of Battalion 58 in Canarsie, Brooklyn. 

Chief Montagna holds a bachelor's in fire science from John Jay College, where he has also taught firematics and management as an adjunct professor.  His articles encompass many subject areas in the field of firefighting and have been published in WNYF magazine and in Fire Engineering magazine, where he is a contributing editor.

Trained by the International Association of Fire Chiefs as a carbon monoxide response instructor, Chief Montagna has lectured extensively on the subject of CO.  Montagna holds seminars on firefighting related topics and has spoken at the Fire Department Instructors' Conference and the New York City Fire Department Institute's Structural Firefighting Seminars.
